There is a beautiful saying ” Success on the outside starts from success on the inside”. So if you are someone on the quest of conquering the world then you should start by conquering yourself first. And there is no greater teacher than a good book to teach you the art of mastering yourself. So, here are 5 personal development books everyone should read. But remember! Reading itself doesn’t enforce any change in you unless you apply the knowledge in your everyday life.
Personal Development Books
1. The Monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin Sharma
This book is an amazing fable filled with knowledge and practical techniques to apply them in your everyday life. It talks about the 7 Timeless virtues of the enlightened mind. Mastering your mind, Finding your purpose, Self-leadership, Living with Discipline, Respecting your time, Serving others, and finally embracing your present. Not only does this book gracefully explains to you the purpose of achieving each of them, but it also provides practical methods to achieve them.
2. The Dip by Seth Godin
This is a tiny book but it teaches us the extraordinary benefits of knowing when to quit and when to stick. Every new event in life be it a job, new semester or even a new relationship seems exciting in the beginning but then the hard phase which Mr. Godin quotes as a “Dip” occurs. He says success comes to those who know whether they have to quit or stick through that phase. The book provides a good insight into analyzing the situation so that you learn the art of quitting the wrong stuff and stick through the right stuff.
3. The Subtle art of not giving a fu*k by Mark Mason
This book is definitely more than what the title suggests. Firstly it, of course, talks about things and situations that you should bother not to give a fu*k about but it just doesn’t stop there. It takes all your pre-owned notions about passion and success and gives you a wider and more refined view about them. It talks about values and creating a metric to measure your success based on your values. This book is one of my personal favorites and I would definitely recommend reading this.
4. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
This book talks about the one law that governs everything in the world ” The law of attraction”. It beautifully explains how this law helps to achieve all the things you want to conquer life. This book consists of wonderful stories of people who have benefited by following this law. I read this book during the time I was in depression due to a sense of abandonment from the people close to me. But soon this book not only filled me with hope but has given me results. It taught me the art of self-love which lead more people in my life that love me and respect me. I owe a lot to this book and that is exactly why I’m sharing it here.
5. The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy
This book is one of the pioneers of affirmative thinking. It explains to you how affirmative thinking can affect every aspect of your life. The combination of scientific research and spiritual wisdom that makes this book so remarkable. It teaches you to find inner peace and to strengthen your personality. It is definitely a great book that will make you improve the quality of your life.
