There are times where situations push you into the pit of self-defeating thoughts. No matter what you do, you feel like you always are facing negative consequences. By the same token, you feel nervous to address an unfamiliar crowd or when you have to attend an interview. All these cleave out from one single issue- lacking self-confidence. So, here are 6 simple and powerful ways to boost your self-confidence by making minor changes in your routine.

WORK OUT

Exercising is probably one of the best ways to power up your battery. Apart from making you physically strong, it works wonders on your mind too. It activates chemicals like dopamine and endorphins which in turn help in relieving stress and anxiety. Personally, it makes you feel confident about your body and thereby making you more presentable among peers and the public.

SUIT UP!

Do you wonder why people brought this saying with time- “You are what you dress”!? Why do you become very particular about dressing when you’re about to face an interview? Ever felt that push which drives you to do something when you wear a new dress? All the secrets lie in dressing up. Would you believe that something as simple as how you dress could affect your attitude and self-confidence? Dressing up is more than just covering your body. Apart from the poised look, a proper outfit lends you, it makes you feel good about what you’re wearing and boosts self-confidence.

Try this: Prove it! Dress up as if you’re going to a movie and sit idly for sometime when you are feeling low or depressed. How do you feel? Let us know.

SPRAY YOUR PERFUME

Just like dressing up, adding a fragrance to your body brings aplomb irrespective of whether you have a body odor. It makes you feel comfortable when you are around people and amplifies your morale.

· Choose a perfume that suits your personality.

· Spray it on your pulse points like wrists, neck, and elbows as these increase the body warmth, hence activating and rejuvenating your mood.

· Fly in high spirits!

SLEEP

Since your childhood, you are always advised to give your body the required amount of sleep. It is important for various aspects of brain function. If neglected, sleep deprivation increases your odds of feeling overly sensitive. Thereby, making you unconfident as it affects emotions and social interactions too. Also, the radiations that your phones emit activate your brain and decrease the chances of falling asleep. So, put your phones and other gadgets away and have a complete peaceful sleep tonight.

BE PROUD AND APPRECIATE YOURSELF

Think of all the times you stood out among your peer groups. Contemplate the times you’ve achieved something(though minute) which gave you immense satisfaction. Appreciate yourself for being that different human, respecting your own decisions. No one needs your love, appreciation, and applauds more than you require. Why muse? Give that pat on your back and head north.

SMILE AND GREET

The physical action smile releases endorphins in your brain. Endorphins are called nature’s “happy drug.” They make you feel happy and raise your self-esteem. The most influential people who are popular in the world are those who genuinely smile at others and greet everybody. Greeting people also conveys the fact that you are comfortable with socializing and thereby portray that you are very confident.

Also, it only requires 11 muscles to smile which is way less than 112 to stretch to frown. You know which to choose. Happy smiling!
